AIADMK leader and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, J Jayalalitha is under extreme intensive care in Apollo Hospital in Chennai after she was rushed in to the hospital after a severe cardiac arrest. Earlier, she was in hospital but was discharged after extensive treatment. Critics even say that she was discharged from hospital right after the Prime Minister of India, Mr. Narendra Modi demonised the 1000 rupee and 500 rupee notes to crack whip on the black money hoarders.
The Chennai administration is facing a tough time with fans and supporters of Jayalalitha thronging the entrance and premised of Apollo Hospital where she is admitted. There have been reports of minor clashes between the crowd and the security personnel who are waiting since past 2 days to know more about the condition of their beloved leader.
Earlier in the day, all hell broke loose when there was a mistimed report in one of the TV channels about the death of the Tamil Nadu CM. But, the crowd was soon brought into control after minor lathi-charge. Apollo Hospital, too, immediately calmed the crowd announcing that the news was utterly false and that Jayalalitha was very much alive and being attended to.
Jayalalitha was brought into the hospital on Sunday evening after suffering a major heart attack. On her arrival and seeing the mass gathering of people around the hospital, the government decided to keep schools and colleges in the city shut. There were reports of even some shopkeepers keeping their stores shut today. Even Karnataka government did not ply their buses into Tamil Nadu fearing public outlast and destruction to goverment property.
